Participant::i just heard that NIH is cutting all Indirect Rates to 15% !
https://www.science.org/content/article/nih-slashes-overhead-payments-research-sparking-outrage#:~:text=A%2015%25%20indirect%20cost%20rate,some%20universities%20get%20higher%20rates.How can small SBIR funded companies manage with such a small amount? Is EGC planning to advocate for small companies to avoid such a huge cut? Any updates would be super helpful.
Thanks,

Participant::It’s definitely too early to tell what the final outcome of this notice will be. We’re already seeing some states push back against it, and we anticipate a lot more discussion and debate before we know how, or even if, it will be implemented. One key area we’re focusing on is how this might impact SBIR/STTR funding, especially since the notice specifically mentions institutions of higher learning. We’re actively seeking clarification from program officers on this point. We will provide additional updates when we get more information.
