Typically a switch from STTR to SBIR is allowed, however, we recommend that you contact your assigned Program Officer (PO) to confirm. You will also need to ensure that you meet the required effort and qualifying criteria for an SBIR (SBIRs require that at least 67% of the award be awarded directly to costs incurred by the small business concern, leaving up to 33% of the award to be allocated to academic collaborators and/or consultants).Below are a few links regarding resubmissions that may be of use as you prepare your application:
