Can a company apply for and receive a Phase IIB and a CRP as follow ons to the same NIH Phase II award?

Yes. A Phase IIB is intended to provide funding for projects that require more R&D. A Phase IIB is awarded after the Phase II ends, but you can apply for the IIB while the Phase II is still active. It is actually considered a renewal of the Phase II. A CRP is intended to facilitate the transition of Phase II or IIB projects to the commercialization stage by providing additional support for technical assistance and, in some cases, later stage R&D. A CRP can be awarded while the Phase II or IIB is active or after it has ended.

It is best to apply for the IIB during Phase II. Then apply for a CRP if needed during or after the IIB.
